A game that most thought would be competitive was anything but. In fact, the teams didn’t look like they belonged on the same field. A 10 run first inning by the Barbers shell shocked Lydos, and the team from Eugene limped through five innings before scurrying out of Joe Etzel field disgruntled, defeated, and discombobulated. A powerful, motivated Barbers squad simply overwhelmed the group from Eugene. Jaden Tragesser led off with a double down the left field line to start the barrage. Andrew Ha was hit by a pitch, and Cal Gradwahl drew a walk to load the bases. Gabe Coltman, last season Silver Slugger award winner, and All world series selection cleared the bases with a double to the left center wall and the route was on. Six more runs would come across in the first inning and the game was essentially over. By the end of the game the Barbers had tallied 13 hits, drove in 16 of their 17 runs scored and allowed just one earned run. The Barbers victory sets them upfor a rematch with the Okotok Dawgs Black squad from Canada on championship Sunday.
